7 tips for packing the car trunk like a pro for your summer road trip

With many of us planning a road trip this summer, there will be plenty of us packing the car trunk as efficiently as possible.  We’ve got some handy tips to maximize your trunk space, so you can pack like a pro and take everything you need on your summer vacation.

Remove everything from the trunk to start with.

Install a vehicle-specific luggage barrier such as the Travall Guard. This allows you to securely position your luggage and other items in the trunk and keep everything away from the passenger cabin.

Add a rubber cargo liner with a textured surface so that cargo is less likely to shift.

If you’re likely to be transporting a mixture of heavy items and more fragile goods, adding a trunk divider can be a sensible move. This also allows for better organization of the cargo area and further eliminates load shift.

When packing the cargo area, place large and heavy cases into the trunk first.

Add softer and smaller bags to fill in the spaces around.

Be ruthless in what you decide to take. When you are packing the car trunk, ask yourself whether all of what you are including is necessary.  You’ll be surprised how much you can eliminate by only taking what you need.
