Dog treat recipes to spoil your doggo this Valentine’s Day

Did you know that in 2020 Rover.com found that almost half of American pet parents had planned a full Valentine’s Day celebration for their pets? Dogs are seeing a larger and larger share of Valentine’s Day spending. As pet ownership has increased significantly since that time and because we are all so thankful for the unconditional love and happiness that our dogs have given us during the pandemic, that statistic is likely to be much higher this year.  As so many of us are at home at the moment, making our own dog treats could be an appealing pastime.  So we give a few dog treat recipes you may want to try to show your dog you care.

We posted our Carob cupcake recipe back in 2019 and have received so many comments from pet parents who say their dog can’t get enough of it.  Why not try it yourself and see what your dog thinks?

A little something for the apple of your eye

Two Little Cavaliers provides great inspiration for dog-appropriate recipes and their Apple Cinnamon dog treat recipe is no exception. If your dog is partial to apple, this is a winning combination of ingredients to keep that little tail wagging.

A treat for pups with a sweet tooth

There’s no reason why a dog treat has to come in the form of a cookie or hard biscuit – treats come in lots of different ways too. In recent years, people have gone mad for the taste of sweet potato fries.  This Sweet Potato fries recipe from the folks at Beagles and Bargains could be just the thing for your pup. Using dog friendly ingredients, this nutritious snack is worth trying.

Let us know which one your dog preferred. Happy baking!

Please note: If you are unsure whether these treats would be suitable for your own dog, please consult your veterinarian for dietary advice specific to your pup.
