New year, new dog walks: inspiration for you and your pup

Did you know that January is Walk Your Dog month? The vast majority of dog owners tend to walk their dog close to their home.  In 2020 with all the lockdown restrictions and advice to restrict unnecessary travel, we all tended to stay closer to home for our daily dog walks.  With the prospect of a lightening of restrictions ahead, thanks to vaccine rollouts, many of us will want to start going further afield later on in 2021.  Why not start planning for these new walks now?  We list several sources of inspiration for great walking opportunities around Britain – maybe some of them would be suitable for you and your pup!

If coastal walks are what you have been craving, the suggestions from our friends at Countryfile Magazine may be just the ticket. With a list of walks around the country, they give full details about the length and the intensity of the walk, so you can find something to best suit your needs.  We’re lacing our boots already. Details here.

Perhaps you prefer to get your information via podcasts.  It’s a great option and one of the best podcasts about interesting walks around Britain is the aptly named Walks Around Britain podcast.

Maybe you received a National Trust membership from Santa.  The National Trust offers a tremendous number of interesting walks including some of the best places for dog walking. Get more details on their website.
