Seasonal car care is vitally important to ensure that your car is prepared for what it is likely to experience during the season ahead. Preparing your car for autumn is slightly different from winter preparations, but no less important. \u00a0We\u2019ve got some simple car care suggestions so your car stays in tip-top shape, allowing you to enjoy the beauty of the autumn season when you\u2019re out on the road<\/span><\/p>\n

Autumn car care<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

Deal with debris<\/b>.<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n

Autumn leaves are either loved or loathed by people at this time of year. They may be very beautiful in many situations, but they can cause havoc with your vehicle. If you regularly park under or near trees, ensure that your car is cleared of leaves and other debris before setting out so that your vision isn\u2019t impeded, your air filters don\u2019t get clogged, and your paintwork isn\u2019t affected. \u00a0As the weather turns wetter, be aware of an increase in mud and grit that can also affect your car\u2019s paintwork.<\/span><\/p>\n

Check components are in good working order.<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

Heater<\/b>. \u00a0Check that your car\u2019s heating\/air-conditioning system is working properly so that you can easily demist your windscreen on the frosty mornings ahead.
\n<\/span>Wipers<\/b>. \u00a0Ensure your wipers are in good condition and are working properly. \u00a0Seasonal storms tend to be more frequent at this time of the year, and you want to be able to see clearly in heavy <\/span>rain storms.
\n<\/span>Tyres<\/b>. \u00a0Do a visual check to make sure your tyres are still in good shape and have sufficient tread depth. Follow up by checking tyre pressure. If the tread is low or the side walls look damaged in any way, replace the tyre.
\n<\/span>Brakes<\/b>. \u00a0Make sure that brakes are in good working condition. This is particularly important on wet, leaf-covered roads that are even more slippery than usual
\n<\/span>Battery.<\/b> \u00a0Check your battery. \u00a0If you find it is struggling, replace it. \u00a0It\u2019s easier to do this now than to face a breakdown on a bitterly cold day.
\n<\/span>Lights<\/b>. \u00a0Make sure all your lights are working and that the bulbs aren\u2019t dim. \u00a0You\u2019ll be particularly glad to have a clearly lit road when the clocks go back and it is vitally important that you can be seen too.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Replenish supplies in your boot<\/b>.<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n

Now is the time to check that you have sufficient de-icer in the boot of your car as nights can quickly turn frosty. Why not also add a torch, a waterproof jacket and a blanket in case of emergencies?
