An article in the British Medical Journal estimated that there are 6,743 hospital admissions for dog bites per year in England alone.\u00b9<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Even dog lovers who are used to being around dogs are not immune to being bitten. \u00a0Dog bite prevention can be achievable. Especially if you are encountering a large dog, it is easy to get knocked over by the dog. If this happens it is best to roll yourself into a ball covering your ears and neck with your hands and arms. \u00a0Continue to avoid making eye contact with the dog.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Dog bite prevention 2 &#8211; how to prevent yourself from being bitten by a dog<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once you recognise the signs that a dog is about to bite, what can you do to prevent provoking this behaviour in the first place? \u00a0One initial suggestion is not to approach a dog that is unfamiliar to you.
