It\u2019s the Chinese New Year 2018! At Travall we\u2019re particularly in the mood to celebrate because it is the year of one of our favourite animals \u2013 the year of the dog! <\/span><\/p>\n

We asked our team members to name any Chinese dog breeds and they didn’t disappoint. \u00a0Although it is actually of Tibetan-Chinese origin, everyone could name the Shih Tzu. We think this is mostly because of the adorable Frank our Digital Marketing Manager’s one-eyed Shih Tzu. <\/span><\/p>\n

Close behind came the Shar Pei and of course the Pekingese. We were surprised to find that there are only 4 officially recognised Chinese dog breeds. These are the Shar Pei, the Pug, the Chow Chow and the Pekingese. \u00a0The 4 breeds have significant heritage having been around for over 2,000 years. \u00a0<\/span>We\u2019re hoping to see examples of all these breeds when we attend<\/span> Crufts 2018<\/a> in March.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We took a look at the Chinese zodiac. Like the animal itself, people born in the year of the dog are loyal, independent, clever, lively and sincere.\u00a0\u00a0 Apparently, their weaknesses are being stubborn, conservative and emotional.\u00a0<\/span>Romantically they are best matched with people born in the year of the rabbit and worst matched with people born in the year of the dragon, sheep and rooster.\u00a0<\/span>If you were born in the year of the dog your lucky numbers are 3, 4 and 9, your lucky colours are green, red and purple and your lucky flower is the rose.<\/span><\/p>\n
