The new year is the perfect chance for new beginnings and a fresh start. With that in mind, why not (quite literally) start something new? We can’t think of a better time to consider purchasing a new car, or at least start your search. As the world’s leading brand for premium vehicle-specific accessories, we at Travall know a thing or two about cars. It’s important to match your vehicle to your lifestyle, so here’s a list of our favourites for particular demographics.
Best new car for dog owners
If you’re a dog owner, you’ll want something that will be safe and comfortable for your pooch to travel in. It’s also handy if your dog can easily hop in and out. Fortunately, we’ve been searching for exactly that in our “Best Cars for Dogs” series, which can be found here.
From that list we’ve concluded that the Audi Q8 is the perfect vehicle for anyone needing to transport their dogs. This is largely thanks to its unique kneeling feature, allowing you to lower the boot height by 6.5cm. As a result, your pooch can get in and out of the tall SUV with ease, perfect for older dogs. The Q8 also has a 605-litre boot, so even the biggest of dogs have plenty of space to get comfortable. As you’d expect from Audi the ride is exceptional. So too is the interior refinement, resulting in a smooth and quiet ride for everyone. The Q8 is Audi’s range-topping SUV so oozes luxury, with high quality components and a stunning cabin.
Best new car for adventurers
If you love escaping far off the beaten path, with a boot full of camping equipment and nothing but the elements standing in your way, then the Land Rover Discovery Sport is a great option for you. The Discovery claims to be a genuine utility vehicle and we’d have to agree. Its stand out feature is the Terrain Response system, which provides the best driving setup depending on the terrain. It also comes equipped with a wade sensor, which alerts you when the vehicle is approaching its maximum wade depth. These features are great if you like to head off-road on your adventures, but also want a car that’s just as accomplished on tarmac as it is on gravel. It’s little wonder, then, that it’s become one of Land Rover’s best sellers.
Best new car for families
If your new year’s resolution is to be a little more sensible, or maybe your family is expanding, the 5th generation Toyota RAV4 is the perfect practical family SUV. Given the RAV4 is only available as a hybrid, it offers solid fuel economy at 42.1 miles per gallon. The interior is very spacious, with more than enough room for five and plenty of boot space for luggage. Although these are all excellent features for a family car, we understand that safety is a priority when searching for a new family car. This is where the RAV4 really excels. As standard, you get autonomous emergency braking and lane assist. All this aids in keeping you and your family out of harm’s way and results in the RAV4 being awarded a 5-star Euro NCAP rating.
Best new car for city drivers
If you live in a metropolitan area or perhaps work in the city, you’ll want something relatively small and efficient at low speeds, offering good value for money. For those reasons, we recommend Britain’s best selling car of 2019, the Ford Fiesta. Starting at £16,000, the stylish Fiesta is great fun to drive and its compact size makes it ideal for squeezing into those tight city centre parking spots.
So there you have our list of the best new cars to consider for the new year. Whether it’s a sensible family car, or a proper 4×4 you’re after, we hope we’ve got you covered. No matter which you go for, or even if you simply want to upgrade your current car, our range of premium vehicle-specific accessories are ideal. The Travall Guard allows you to maximise your boot space and is perfect for those wanting to transport their pets securely. If you want to split the load space in two for more efficient loading, the Travall Divider offers a great boot organisation system. We’ve also got a range of protective accessories, including the Travall Mats and the Travall Liner to ensure your new car is ready for anything!
