Environmental awareness: the 4-pronged Travall approach

Here at Travall there’s nothing we love more than going out and getting active at the weekends or in the lighter summer evenings.  Between the whole team we love hiking, mountain biking, climbing, camping and country walks with the dog. So for us, environmental awareness really matters.  We want to ensure that future generations can enjoy the same kind of outdoor lifestyle that we so much enjoy. We have refined our processes at Travall to ensure that our manufacturing has minimal impact on the environment.  To do this we’ve taken a 4-pronged approach.

Locally sourced raw materials

To reduce our carbon footprint, we ensure that we source our raw materials for the dog guards and boot dividers from steel mills right here in the UK.   It is also essential that third party suppliers also comply with our standards.

An energy efficient production site

Our production site uses the latest machinery that maximises throughput, reduces energy use and minimises waste. We package our products with minimal packaging yet still protecting the products within. Recycled cardboard is used for all the packaging.

Certified for environmental management

Every year we are subject to a Quality Assurance audit.  Travall is certified for environmental management by the British Standards Institution.

Environmentally sound coating

Travall Guards and Dividers are not only prized for their precise fit, but also for their finish.  Each steel guard or divider is coated with Rilsan®. This is a tough nylon powder that is made from castor oil.  The plant-based coating is free of heavy metal-based pigments and curing agents. It does not release any harmful gases.  The coating not only gives the products a resilient scratch-free finish, but ensures that the products are environmentally sound.
